BEFORE YOU SET A BUDGET
- Keep item payment and parcel shipping separate.
- Save the inputs alongside every estimate.
- An unconfirmed charge stays unconfirmed; it is not zero.
01 / THE COST PARTS
Start with the actual order charges.
OopBuy’s fees page groups purchasing costs into goods, international shipping and customs declaration. Its goods cost includes seller-to-warehouse delivery in China; it also mentions optional services. [1]
Chosen items
Exact variant, quantity and seller delivery.
Packed parcel
Destination, package details and route quote.
Coverage check
Included, separate and still-unconfirmed charges.
Use those headings to organise your own quote. Read what is included and what is separate, and keep each quoted amount with its source. Do not count the same charge twice or infer that a preview price covers everything.
02 / THE OFFICIAL ESTIMATOR
Save the inputs, not just the result.
The official estimator asks for destination, product type, weight in grams and length, width and height in centimetres. [2]
- Choose your destination and item type. Keep these with the item list you are considering.
- Record the package measurements. Label them as estimates or measured values. Keep the units with the numbers.
- Read the available route details. Keep the route name, quote currency, date and included charges in the same note.
- Update the comparison when details change. Use the same information across the quotes you compare.
OopBuy’s buying guide describes an estimated shipping payment and a final shipping cost based on the shipping company’s package measurements. Treat an early estimate as planning information. [3]
Open the official shipping estimator ↗03 / WEIGHT & SPACE
A weight value needs context.
Actual weight
The physical package weight measured on a scale.
Volumetric weight
A shipping-pricing concept that accounts for the space the package occupies relative to its weight.
These definitions come from DHL’s explanation. They are general concepts, not a formula for every OopBuy route. [4]
For your chosen route, read which weight is used, how dimensions are measured and how the charge is calculated. Ask about missing details. A list of individual item weights does not give you the finished parcel dimensions.
Choose packaging around what you need to protect and what your shipping route supports.
04 / A FAIR COMPARISON
Compare the same parcel and destination.
A US, UK, German or French destination belongs in its own quote. Keep the item mix, packed dimensions, weight and selected services consistent when comparing available routes. Note any differing coverage beside the prices.
Another buyer’s shipping bill can prompt a question, but it does not price your parcel. If a quote changes, compare the saved inputs and charge breakdown first, then ask support which entry changed.
Make route comparisons useful by keeping the parcel and included services consistent.
05 / YOUR COST WORKSHEET
Leave unknown amounts visible.
| Cost entry | Your check |
|---|---|
| Items & seller delivery | Use the current chosen variants and quantity. Note whether seller-to-warehouse delivery is included or listed separately. |
| International parcel | Record the destination, packed weight and dimensions, route, currency and quote date together. |
| Declaration & selected services | Read the current declaration charge and any services you select. Check whether each is already included before adding it again. |
| Payment & conversion | Record the amount and currency shown at payment. Our approximate USD preview is not the payment conversion. |
| Destination charges | Check the route’s current wording and destination requirements. If coverage is unclear, mark it unconfirmed and ask before relying on a total. |
Mark each entry included, quoted separately or unconfirmed. Keep the quoted subtotal separate from unanswered items. Only combine amounts in the same currency, and check the actual payment total.
This worksheet organises a budget; it does not calculate freight or destination taxes. It supplies no fixed shipping rate, delivery promise or coupon value.
06 / CURRENCY & OFFERS
Compare the amount you will actually pay.
A currency conversion is a reference, not a checkout quote. Our USD previews use ¥7.20 per $1. Check the current amount for the exact variant and the currency shown at payment, including any disclosed payment or conversion charge.
- Keep the CNY starting point. Record the variant, quantity, listing price and date before comparing converted amounts.
- Read the payment amount. Compare the agent’s current quote and the amount shown by the payment provider. Note any separately listed charges instead of assuming a reference rate accounts for them.
- Compare matching totals. Check whether each amount covers the item alone, seller delivery or a parcel. Combine amounts only when the currency and included charges match.
Check what a coupon reduces
Read the current offer before subtracting a discount. Check the charge it applies to, any minimum spend, eligible route or item, expiry and whether it can be combined with another offer. Record the reduction shown on your actual quote.
These are budget checks, not a fixed exchange-rate markup or a coupon promise. The official fee categories ↗ help identify the charge being reduced.
07 / SHIPPING QUESTIONS
Before you rely on an estimate.
Can I estimate shipping without packed dimensions?
Record which package details are still missing. Any result using assumed dimensions remains a provisional comparison. Ask for the packed details when available, then update the estimate instead of treating an item photo as a package measurement.
Why might an estimate differ from a later quote?
Compare the destination, route, package measurements, currency and services you saved. The official guide distinguishes estimated payment from final measured shipping cost. Ask support about an unexplained difference; this page cannot determine your account’s final charge.
Which route is cheapest for the US or Europe?
Compare current available routes for your own destination and parcel, including what each quote covers. We have not obtained a quote for your package and do not name a universally cheapest route.
Where should I check the item price first?
Open the full product listing and match the variant, size and quantity. Continue through the current agent flow for the order quote. The spreadsheet preview and its reference USD conversion are starting points.
