Choose a closure that fits your routine
A pullover gives you an uninterrupted front; a zip-up lets you open the front over another layer. Those are design differences you can inspect in a listing. Neither closure establishes how thick, warm or breathable the fabric is.
If you plan to wear a hoodie under a jacket, compare the hood, shoulder width and sleeve bulk with the outer layer. If it will be your outer layer, look at body length and the hem position you prefer. Start with a hoodie that already works in that role.
Oversized needs more than a size label
UNIQLO’s measurement guidance separates body measurements from finished-garment measurements. When a seller provides flat garment width, measure your reference hoodie in the same way before comparing it.
Width, length and sleeve position can change independently. A wide body with a short hem gives a different shape from a long, narrow hoodie. Record each value rather than sizing up simply because the listing says oversized. Check whether shoulder seams are dropped before comparing sleeve lengths.
Check the details your preview cannot settle
Open the selected colour and inspect the zipper, drawcord, pocket layout and lining where shown. A contrasting lining in a photograph is a visible design feature; it does not prove the material composition or weight.
For QC, prioritise the selected size label, full front and back, hem, cuffs and closure. A measurement photo is useful only when the tape starts and ends at the same points used in the seller’s chart.
